CAUTION: Ensure rear fin holders and axle support are ALL facing the right way BEFORE gluing
Glue rear fin holders and fin
Glue axle supports
Assemble rear axle
Cut 1 skewer to 110mm
Build pulley (glue sides on)
Slide pulley to middle of axle
Slide wheels on
Place axle on car
(to ensure everything fits)
Remove axle
Glue pulley and wheels to the axle
Steering Control Arms
Cut 2 skewers to 20mm (used vertically to join the two parts)
Cut 2 skewers to 35mm (used horizontally for the wheels to go on)
Build a left and right control arm
(CAUTION: They should be mirror opposites, not identical)
BEFORE gluing make sure you can fit a 3mm piece of wood plus 6 pieces of paper in the control arm
This will ensure it is not too tight a fit on the car
Steering Assembly
Cut 2 skewers to 15mm (used vertically to join the arms to the car body)
CAUTION: NO supper glue should be used for this part
Only use HOT GLUE
Hot glue the skewers in place to hold the control arms on
(Make sure the arms swing and move very easily)
Place the tie-rod on both arms
Hot glue washers on top of the tie-rod to hold it on
(Make sure the arms still swing and move very easily)
Do NOT glue the wheels to the front axles (they need to be able to spin)
Do NOT glue the washer between the wheel and the control arm
Hot glue the outside (last) washer on the axle to hold the wheels on
(make sure they can still spin)
Motors
Place the brackets on the motors
Place the motors on to the car body
Make sure the shaft of each motor is pointing the direction shown
Belts
Remove the rear axle
Place a rubber band around the pulley
(Place a small roll of paper under it so the band doesn't get stuck in the pulley)
Replace the axle
Pull the rubber band over the shaft of the motor
Place a rubberband into the tiny L shaped slots in the tie rod
Now loop the rubberband once around the shaft of the front motor
Hook a battery pack directly to the rear motor
Your car is now ready for a driving test!
TRY IT OUT!
