Bang, Boom, and Burn as you learn
Students will be able get hands-on with fire! They will perform experiments with fire in a safe and controlled environment.
SAFETY –Do not worry, we will be taking extreme safety precautions

For small workshop sizes, each student will be able to perform each experiment.
For larger groups (10+) this workshop will be presented as a show, with volunteers from the audience having an opportunity to assist with the experiments as they are performed by the professional presenter.
You are going to learn how to take a common food ingredient that doesn’t burn,
and use it to breathe fire like a dragon!
(Don't worry we won't be doing it like the first picture)
In this experiment you will use chemistry to change the color of fire!
You will make fireballs of different colors.
Students will make rockets that actually blast off!
Using a single match-head students will learn how difficult rocket science really is!
Combine the power of sound with fire and you get the Ruben’s dancing fire tube!
Students will get to play with the sound to see how the fire reacts.
Extinguishing Candles: How many ways can you discover to put out a fire?
Pure water does not conduct electricity very well. However if we add an electrolyte (like salt or bi-carb) the ions allow electricity to flow. The electricity can then be used to tear the water molecule (H2O) into hydrogen and oxygen
gas. When we ignite this "fuel-of-the-future" it explodes and turns back into water!
Can you make a sparkler keep burning under water?
Bubbles are already amazing - add
fire and they become incredible!
Smoke ring shooter
Pasta rocket
Learn what happens when you let liquid fuel evaporate inside a bottle, and then ignite it!
You will mix chemicals to produce hydrogen gas, and collect it in a balloon.
Once your balloon is full of extremely flammable hydrogen gas you will safely & carefully ignite your balloon!
No public classes are currently scheduled for this workshop.

The Extended version is a half-day workshop allowing students to preform each experiment indivdually!
Group Size: The show-style is suited to groups of 20 - 200 students.
The extended workshop has a maximum of 2 groups of 10 children, with 2 classes running back-to-back.
Length can be adjusted to suit group requirements
